Come to Clinique Dentaire ADF for regular examinations and hygiene cleanings. Our dentists can help you prevent oral health issues and keep your smile healthy.
Ideally twice every year, you'll see your dentist for a regular oral exam. This allows them the opportunity to identify any oral health issues and develop a plan to treat them accordingly.
While examining your mouth, your dentist will closely check your teeth, gums, jaw, and bite. Dental X-Rays will be taken if needed, and an oral cancer screening and other diagnostic procedures may also be required.
Oral Cancer Screening
Any part of the mouth or surrounding tissues can be infected with oral cancer. During your exam, the dentist will check the tongue, tissues, gums, throat, face, neck and lips for any signs of oral cancer that may be difficult to detect with the naked eye.
Oral Health Care at Home
Make sure to brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time, and floss at least once a day to keep your smile healthy between dental appointments.
Your dental hygienist will perform a deep cleaning of your teeth and gums before or after your exam to prevent and treat disease.
To start, a scaler will be used to remove any plaque and tartar buildup. Next, the hygienist will use a polisher and coarse toothpaste to remove any remaining stains or plaque. This will be followed by a thorough flossing of your teeth and gums.
Are you or your child at high risk of tooth decay? Your dentist may recommend a fluoride treatment. This natural mineral can help to rebuild the minerals in your tooth enamel to reverse tooth decay, or prevent it from occurring.
